Welcome hammock enthusiasts!

For now I think I'll just create as few sub-forums as possible, I hate it when there's a gazillion subforums with hardly any posts and lots of overlap.

If this forum gets busy enough, I'll look into splitting it up further.
I've got all the Manufacturer forums created, they're just "hidden" for now.

For now, all discussion about Gear, Underquilt, Overquilt, UQ, OQ, Hennessy, Warbonnet, Whoopie Slings, Eagles Nest, Eureka, Arrowhead, Clark Jungle Hammocks are welcome the "Hammock Chat" forum.

Any suggestions, comments, etc just holler grinning smiley

The motorcycle specific area is a good idea. I'm no longer on Advrider so it's nice to have a hammock/bike area.

Lol, like the username...

Maybe there should be a cycling forum too at some point? Kayaking?
But then don't want to split hairs, it's early days.

I'm Law Dawg (ret) and a vetran outdoorsman but relatively new to hammock camping...I do my homework and being on vacation (workers comp too) until actual retirement make that possible. I looked into hammocks because the workers comp thing means I have two shiney new titanium knees (both of which threw blood clots and almost killed me) and ground camping is ubber painful. So while it probably seems like I am a vetran hammock camper, I am really still sorting all this out.

Good idea to work toward a site for moto hanging...though it will still be a minority thing. Some folks are just dense...

Well as you will be able to tell I'm new to this. I first became aware of this hammock camping business on a canoe trip on the Allagash river in Maine in 2002. I recently went camping on Umbagog Lake in N.H. and found someone else camping in a hammock. I've been doing a lot of research on the computer lately and as usual the more I learn the more confussing it gets to make a decision. What brand and what model and will I sleep comfortably? I wish there would be a way to try them out.
